Hogwarts Legacy: 7 Best Beginner Tips
Potterheads who are just getting started with Hogwarts Legacy will need to know the following tips.
Hogwarts Legacy is the first Harry Potter game to come out for consoles in a long time. It is a mix of many different types of games, and players make a character who goes to Hogwarts as a Fifth-Year student. They will go to school, learn spells, look around the castle, go on quests, and so on.
In time, you’ll also be able to look around the grounds of Hogwarts. At this point, Hogwarts Legacy is a little bit of an open-world game, but the world isn’t that big compared to some other RPGs. We still have a lot to learn, so let’s move on to the tips.
The Difficulty Options
Hogwarts Legacy has a range of different difficulty settings, from “Story” to “Hard,” to make things easier for young witches and wizards. The best part is that players can always change their minds. Most RPGs let you change the difficulty in the middle of the game, but that’s not something you should take for granted.
Combat in the game takes a while to get going, so it’s best to start with Normal, which is in the middle of the pack. If it’s too hard, make it easier, and vice versa if it’s too easy.
Explore The Castle ASAP
As soon as players get to Hogwarts and get settled in with their two classes, they should look around the school as much as possible. At first, you won’t be able to use every classroom and hallway. But you can look around at least half of the castle.
To get fast travel, look at the map and go to each Floo Powder Network node. If you do this early on, it will be much easier to unlock these links later on for quests. It will also let players look around one of the most famous castles in fiction, which has been faithfully made in 3D.
Spam That Revelio Spell
There’s another good reason to look around the castle early on. Professor Weasley says that the guidebook will get bigger if you use the Revelio spell around the school grounds. Through Challenges, this will let you get extras like changes to how you look.
Players will also level up if they find secret paintings and notes about magical items. This is a good way to level up early on without having to fight goblins, trolls, or dark wizards. It also gives fans another way to see more of their favorite world come to life.
Wear Headphones
This may seem like an odd tip for a game like this, but there are a lot of sound clues you should pay attention to. For instance, there are different pages and keys floating around the castle. Both of these things make noise. If players put on headphones, they can hear these things around them.
The Revelio spell can only show so much about interesting things. By adding sounds to the mix, things will be easier to find. There are also some side quests where sound can help.
Explore The Grounds
After a few story missions, the game will send the player on a mission in a part of the library that is off limits. After this, there will be more space on the Hogwarts grounds. Players should take this chance to get some exercise, just like they were told to do when they were told to look around the castle.
They can do things like help a goblin get some carts back from some bandits. There’s also one where you have to get something out of a lake. This open area has a lot of options, but the most important reason to look around is to learn more about how to fight.
You Can Transmog Your Outfits
In Hogwarts Legacy, players can find or buy things like gloves, hats, robes, and so on to make their gear look better. Stats will go up just like in any other RPG. This will also change how the player character looks, which can make them look funny if they wear a bunch of clothes that don’t go together. The good thing about 8 Ball Pool game is that it lets you change into different things.
On the equipment screen, players can highlight each category and choose how they want to show their items. Gloves, for example, can be worn to get stat bonuses, but they can also be taken off to make it look like the player isn’t wearing them. It’s a nice thing that more complex RPGs like this one should use. Also, selling items won’t get rid of the cosmetic options you’ve gained, so get rid of anything you don’t need.
Remove The HUD
If you want to help someone play Hogwarts Legacy, the best thing you can say is to turn off the HUD. It’s not hard to remember the combinations of buttons you need to press to open the spell or potion wheel. Players can also use the Revelio button to find out more about interesting things in the environment, or they can use the guidebook to find the right way to a quest. So, the HUD doesn’t really matter.
This is the first time that people will be able to play a game on a console that isn’t about Harry Potter. It’s a big deal that the game lets them go to Hogwarts as a student of their craft. Getting rid of the HUD should help players get more into this huge world full of witches, magic, monsters, and other things.
Now, you can play Hogwarts Legacy on PS5, Xbox Series S|X, and PC. Versions for PS4, Xbox One, and Switch are being made right now.
