How does a cervical problem affect your body

What is Cervical Spondylosis

Medical professionals use the term cervical spondylosis to describe age-related degeneration of the soft tissues and discs in the neck area of the spine. Cervical problems are a common phenomenon in people aged above 50 years and result in neck pain, neck stiffness, and other conspicuous symptoms. Oftentimes, this condition occurs in the form of arthritis or osteoarthritis of the neck.  Let’s first understand the anatomy of the cervical spine.

Understanding Cervical Spine

The entire spine is made up of 24 vertebrae, i.e. bones of the spine. The cervical spine, particularly, consists of seven vertebrae that start at the base of the skull. The spinal cord and its nerves pass through an opening in the entire vertebral column. The brain transports its messages to the rest of the body via the spinal cord and nerves. There are discs between each vertebra. The discs function as the body’s shock absorbers. The discs constitute strong, flexible connective tissue and contain a substance that resembles gel. Discs resemble “jelly-filled, comfy doughnuts” positioned between each vertebra.

The placement of three joints is between each pair of vertebrae.

  • The Intervertebral disk is the front joint.
  • Rest two joints are in the back of the spine.

Within each of these joints, cartilage is present, which provides cushioning to the bone ends. On the other hand, ligaments are like soft bands of tissue that connect the whole vertebrae together.

What Does Spondylosis Do To Our Cervical Spine?

When spondylosis occurs, the natural wearing down of spinal parts starts. Consequently,

  • Cartilage deteriorates with time.
  • Disks lose their volume, resulting in drying up and ultimately cracking down.
  • Ligaments thicken, and since bones are no longer covered with cartilage, bone spurs to form.

Causes

There is no one cause that can be attributed to the abrasion of our spine. In fact, this happens due to changes that have taken place over decades. Noted below are some of the changes that can be considered as causes:

  • Degeneration

Your neck’s spinal discs can gradually deteriorate (degenerate). The discs get thinner with time, and the soft tissue loses some of its elasticity. It’s natural for your discs to collapse or settle if you are a little shorter than you were when you were younger.

  • Herniation

Your spinal disc may tear or split as you age naturally. The term for this is a herniated disc. The disc may expand out because of the herniation, impacting on adjacent tissue or a spinal nerve. This pressure may leave you feeling uncomfortable or numb.

  • Osteoarthritis

Osteoarthritis is a chronic disorder that directly affects the cartilage of your joints. Osteoarthritis impairs your cartilage more quickly than because of any other cause.

  • Bone Spurs

Atypical bone growths appear around the margins of vertebrae when the cartilage in the joints between the vertebrae in your spine begins to deteriorate, and bone tissue rubs up against other bone tissue. These enlargements, also known as osteophytes or bone spurs, are very common, especially in middle age. They frequently have no symptoms.

Common Symptoms

It is usual for you not to know that you have cervical spondylosis. This is because this condition typically has no specific symptoms for a person to realize that s/he has or does not have it. However, to list a few, the following are the symptoms that can indicate the presence of this condition.

  • Neck pain or stiffness. This could probably be the main symptom and might pain more when you move your neck, especially upon waking.
  • Soreness in the neck
  • Muscle spasms
  • Clicking, popping, or grinding sound when there is movement in the neck
  • Loss of coordination and slow reflexes
  • Dizziness
  • Headache
Is Cervical Spondylosis Common?

Your spine may change as you age, which is quite natural. This wearing-down of the spine probably starts in your 30s. Nearly 90% of adults by the age of 60 develop cervical spondylosis.

Can This Condition Be Cured Without Injections and Medications?

Yes, absolutely; Cervical Spondylosis, even if it has been nagging you for several years, can be cured by Chakrasiddh. Chakrasiddh uses a combination of healing therapies like Nadi Vaidyam and Marma Chikitsa to heal all sorts of chronic health disorders.

By balancing sympathetic and parasympathetic activities, Nadi Vaidyam and Marma Chikitsa help reestablish the nervous system’s equilibrium. The healer’s touch is a sophisticated biochemical and neuroelectrical impulse in this alternative healing technique. The prana is balanced due to the energy of that touch and the vibration of the repeated mantra traveling through the Marma and Nadis to the appropriate organs.

Chakrasiddh has helped many people come out of chronic cervical spondylosis. If you are suffering from the same or any other health disorder, suffer no more. Book an appointment with Chakrasiddh professionals in one of their centers in Hyderabad or Bangalore for cervical spondylosis treatment without surgery or medication.
